Hi all - I just wanted to give you a quick update. I'm taking a running break because it turns out I have a bad sinus infection, and the beginnings of bronchitis. I really miss running, surprisingly, particularly when it was in the 70's last week, but I'm just not able to do anything more strenuous than hang out on the couch all day. I hope to be back to running on Monday, and I'm planning to repeat week 4, since I will have lost five running days by then.
I'm hoping that I'll be in 5k shape to do the Bridge to Bay 5k again this year. We'll see how things go my first week back. Keep your fingers crossed that the medicine continues to kick this bug and I'm all better by Monday!
Definitely not a gym class hero, my fastest mile was run senior year of college for a required gym class - 12 minutes! This is a chronicle of my journey from couch potato to runner, one step at a time - starting from being able to only run 60 seconds at a time to recently completing my first 10k (in only a span of four months).
My first 5k!!
The 18th Annual River to Bay 5k in Island Heights, NJ - Taken right at about 3 miles, still smiling - ran it in 32:47, a 10:33 pace
My second 5k!
